The Smith Family joins the iconic Corporate Triathlon Series as charity partner

Sports Media and Entertainment 360 CEO Mr Martin Jolly announced today that children’s education charity The Smith Family has joined the iconic Corporate Triathlon Series as charity partner.

“It is fantastic to have an Australian iconic organisation joining forces with an iconic corporate event to now be known as The Smith Family Corporate Triathlon Series,” said Mr Jolly.

“This Series is great for corporations, as it not only challenges their staff, but it creates friendships. It also works as being huge motivation to improve one’s fitness and wellbeing, which is hugely positive for both employer and employee.

“All participants are now encouraged to fundraise for The Smith Family as part of their entry into the event. The Smith Family is a national children’s charity helping disadvantaged Australian children to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves. We are delighted to be working with such an iconic Australian organisation.”

Mr Jolly said there would be participants representing 700 different corporate organisations.

“Across the two events in the Series, we anticipate that in excess of 7,500 people will take part. I would like to wish each and every one the best of luck,” he said.

The Smith Family CEO Dr Lisa O’Brien said the charity was thrilled to partner with Sports Media and Entertainment 360 for these events, as a fun and engaging way for corporate Australia to raise funds which help The Smith Family build the nation’s future workforce, and empower the next generation through education.

“One in seven Australian children and young people are currently growing up in poverty, which can limit their choices, opportunities and outcomes in life,” said Dr O’Brien.

“As Australia’s largest education-oriented charity, we support disadvantaged Australian children to succeed at school so they have the best chance at breaking the cycle of poverty.

“Every dollar fundraised through the Corporate Triathlon Series will help The Smith Family give disadvantaged children the extra support they need to stay motivated and engaged with their learning throughout their schooling and go on to further study or work.
“I encourage all participants to go that extra mile and take on the fundraising challenge.”

The Australian Corporate Triathlon Series, run by Sports, Media and Entertainment 360 holds the event on Gold Coast on the 24th February and in Melbourne 4th March.
