The show, to be held from 7 to 10 September 2017, celebrates four days of curated exhibitions and ambitious programming appealing to the serious collector, art lover and those curious about contemporary art.  In 2015, 32,000 people attended the show, which included 90 galleries with an exhibitor list spanning countries from 5 continents. Over 35% of galleries were international, including representatives from Argentina, Chile, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, United Kingdom and the United States of America.

Only commercial galleries or artist agents with a consistent exhibition history who present a minimum of 4 exhibitions per year in their own business premises, external project spaces or art fairs can apply to participate at Sydney Contemporary. Entry into the Show is decided by a Selection Committee which  is comprised of an industry panel of highly regarded local and international gallerists and curators.  The Committee will select participants in accordance with criteria of quality and suitability for the Sydney Contemporary 2017 concept.
