“My Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004 and during this time she was comforted by the support of Breast Cancer Network Australia’s My Journey Kit, which helped her understand breast cancer and gave her the confidence to face what lay ahead.”
With 48 women finding out they have breast cancer every day in Australia, Jessica Rowe’s words would resonate strongly with so many people. Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) supports all Australians affected by breast cancer and works to create a better cancer journey for women and men affected by this disease.
On Sunday 3 December 2017 the Carman’s Women’s Fun Run will once again turn St Kilda’s Catani Gardens pink as participants run, walk and fundraise for BCNA.
Jessica Rowe will be one of the participants but sadly she’ll be running as a tribute to her mother who died from breast cancer in 2016 after her long battle with the disease. Jessica is calling on her friends and family to support her fundraising efforts so women like her mother also have the support of BCNA when they are diagnosed with breast cancer.
“I will carry my Mum’s values and character with me not only when I run this year but for the rest of my life,” Jessica said.
